Mary E. McCrea, age 88, of Edon, Ohio, died on Friday, March 7, 2008, at Hillside Country Living, Montpelier, Ohio, where she was a resident. A 1937 graduate of Edon High School, Mrs. McCrea was a homemaker and a memeber of Mount Union Christian Union Church and C.U.W.F. Ladies Missionary Society. Mary McCrea was born on October 15, 1919, in Angola, Indian, the daughter of Ralph Ashley and Hazel Imo (Tuttle) Bowles. She married Homer E. McCrea on September 4, 1938, in Liberty Center, Ohio, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. McCrea is survived by her children, Homer Eugene (Ilene) McCrea, of Edon, Dianna Marie (Ronnie) Miller, of Stockbridge, Michigan, Cecelia Kay (William) Ashley, of Phoenix, Arizona, Madalynn Dee Briner of Edon, Richard Lee (Judy) McCrea, of Maryville, Tennessee, Ronald Dwight (Mary Jane) McCrea, of West Unity, Ohio, and Bradley Allen (Cathy) McCrea, of Edon, 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Dean Bowles of Edon, and William Thomas Bowles of Fun City, Arizona, and one sister, Marjorie Ellen Hake, of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceeded in death by three sisters and one brother. Services for Mary E. McCrea will be on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastors Glenn Prine and Byron Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Memorials in the name of Mary E. McCrea may be given to Mount Union Christian Union Church or to Gideons.
