May 18, 1921 — December 19, 2009

Claribel Louise (Burroughs) Kolbe, age 88, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo surrounded by her family on December 19, 2009. She was born to Mildred (Hartell) and James (Bae) Burroughs on May 18, 1921, in Metamora, Ohio. “Grandma Kolbe” was loved by all. She will be remembered for her unconditional love, selflessness-always putting others first and making everyone’s day brighter with her unique humor. She made an impact on everyone she met and will be remembered forever throughout the many cards, letters, and stories she was “famous” for writing. Besides spending time with her family and writing a collection of memories, she enjoyed her home on Lake LeAnn, nature, and made sure to always appreciate the little things in life. She shared 40 happy years with her husband, Raymond Carl Kolbe, who passed away December 11, 1985. Her life was spent focused on her three children and their families. Son Paul Kolbe and Granddaughters Stacy and Sarah of Florida. Son, Shawn Kolbe of Bryan. Daughter Sharilyn (Darrell) Hancock, granddaughter Denae’ (Joe) Roose, great-grandchildren Laken and Kolbe of Bryan. Granddaughter Hayley (Mike) Brandt– great grandchildren Carson and Tyler of Montpelier. She had five brothers: Wayne, Donald, and the late Caltton, Clayton, and Eldon Burroughs. The family will receive guests from 2:00-8-00 p.m. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, on Tuesday, December 22. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, at 1:30 p.m., followed by burial at Evansport Cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Greg Wack.
