Robert B. Richardson, age 83, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 9:10 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Richardson was the owner of Bob’s Dairy Bar, “the Home of Bob’s Big Burger,” for forty years prior to his retirement in 1989. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a 50-year member and past Commander of John D. Smith Post #10 of the Edgerton American Legion. He was a member of Edgerton Masonic Lodge #357 and later Bryan Lodge #215 F & AM, where he received his 50-year member recognition, and was Past Master of the Lodge. His memberships also included the Edgerton Rotary Club, of which he was a former Rotarian of the Year, past President and a Paul Harris Fellow, and the Edgerton United Methodist Church. He was an avid supporter of Edgerton athletics, feeding the team a milkshake and fries after any winning effort. Mr. Richardson was also honored as Citizen of the Year in Edgerton in 1985. Robert B. Richardson was born on June 22, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Benjamin Chester and Elizabeth Mary (Badinger) Richardson. He married Carol J. Krill on July 24, 1949, in Edgerton, and she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Jerry. Also surviving are his four children, Rob (Penny) Richardson, Brent Richardson and Lori (Brian) Michael, all of Edgerton, and Machelle (Larry) Rice of Ney, Ohio, and six grandchildren. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a Masonic service at 8:00 p.m. Services will be on Thursday, December 24, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with D.V. Dillinger, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, with grave side military rites conducted by John D. Smith Post #10 of the Edgerton American Legion. Memorials in the name of Robert B. Richardson may be given to Williams County Home Health Care.
