John C. “Dutch” Dietsch, age 83, of Edgerton, Ohio, died on Friday, December 18, 2009, in his home after a brief illness. Mr. Dietsch was a farmer and an independent truck driver with over forty years of driving experience. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton and Knights of Columbus Council #1494 in Edgerton. He was also a member of the NRA, Farm Bureau, Williams County Pork Producers, and was a former member of the Bryan Moose Lodge #1064. John C. Dietsch was born on March 12, 1928, in Edgerton, the son of Leo H. and Kathryn M. (Lantz) Dietsch. He married Marie D. Douglas on September 4, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, and she preceded him in death in 2008. Surviving are his children, John L. (Jane) Dietsch and Mary Kathryn Dietsch, both Edgerton, Dan M. (Rhonda) Dietsch, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Judy (Harvie) Duran, of Auburn, Indiana, and Joseph K. Dietsch, of Indianapolis, Indiana, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one sister, Alice Jane Dietsch, also of Edgerton. Services will be on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, with recitation of the rosary to follow. Memorials in the name of John C. “Dutch” Dietsch may be given to St. Mary Catholic School, Community Health Professionals of Williams and Fulton Counties or the Williams County Humane Society.
