Virginia A. Phillips, age 91, of Bryan, Ohio, died on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Harborside Healthcare of Northwest Ohio in Bryan, where she had been a resident since May 2006. In early childhood she was baptized in the Corinth Christian Church, Foley, Missouri. A Missourian for 30 years, she worked at McDonald Aircraft and later worked as a licensed practical nurse. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Virginia A. Phillips was born on November 23, 1916, in Troy, Missouri, the daughter of Albert and Nancy Jane (Vaughn) Matthew. She married William Lynch in 1934 at St. Charles, Missouri. Following his death, she moved to Ohio in 1947 and married Wayne Phillips. After 30 years, they retired to Ocala, Florida, until his death, when she returned to Ohio in 2006. Mrs. Phillips is survived by one daughter, Judi G. (Mel) Weis, a stepson, Larry Phillips, three grandchildren, Pamela (Joe) Duprey, of Syracuse, New York, Scott (Sandi) Weis, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Chris Ann (Brian) Miller, of Edon, four stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, Aaron and Jessica Weis, Logan Weis, Lindsee Jo Weis, Ethan Duprey, Briana, Ashtin and Braden Miller, fourteen stepgreat-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, Austin M. Weis, and ten stepgreat-great-grandchildren. In addition to her two husbands, Mrs. Phillips was preceeded in death by her parents, one grandson, Jerry Weis, two sisters, Celia Penn and Mary McDonald, and three brothers, Lewis, Dempsey and Vencil Vaughn. Services for Virginia A. Phillips will be on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. in Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor C.J. Bailey officiating. Interment will be in Edon Cemetery, Edon. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service, on Tuesday, March 11. Memorials in the name of Virginia A. Phillips may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
