Richard W. Luke

Richard W. Luke, age 85, of Edon, Ohio, died at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2008, in his home after a brief illness. Mr. Luke was a 1941 graduate of Edon High School and a lifelong farmer. He also worked at Simpson Industries in Edon, Ohio, from 1964-86. He was a member of the Edon United Methodist Church. Richard W. Luke was born on April 28, 1923, near Edon, Ohio, the son of R. Wayne and Inez (White) Luke. He married Mildred H. Sechler on July 25, 1943, in Edgerton, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Luke is survived by a daughter, Vicki (Thomas) Kurtz, of Edon, Ohio, a son, Robert W. (Mary) Luke, of Bryan, Ohio, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Connie Luke, in 1997. Services for Richard W. Luke will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with his grandsons, Randy Luke and Jeff Kurtz, officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery near Bryan, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4. Memorials in the name of Richard W. Luke are requested to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospice Care.
