Marie D. Dietsch, age 86, of Edgerton, Ohio, died on Friday, June 20, 2008, at Community Memorial Hospital in Hicksville, Ohio, where she was a patient. Mrs. Dietsch was clerk of the Edgerton Local School System for many years, retiring in 1980. Prior to her employment at the Edgerton Schools, she was employed by Four County Joint Vocational School as a secretary. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton,Ohio and the Rosary Altar Society. She was a former member of the Edgerton Garden Club and was a Girl Scout Leader. Marie D. Dietsch was born on March 7, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Michael and Marie (Hornyak) Douglas. She married John C. Dietsch on September 4, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dietsch is survived by her children, John L. (Jane) Dietsch, of Edgerton, Ohio, Mary Kathryn Dietsch, of Edgerton, Ohio, Dan M. (Rhonda) Dietsch, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Judy (Harvie) Duran, of Auburn, Indiana, and Joseph K. Dietsch, of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Alice Jane Dietsch, of Edgerton, Ohio, and one niece. Services for Marie D. Dietsch will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, Ohio, with Father Thomas Oedy officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, June 23, with recitation of the rosary to follow. Memorials in the name of Marie D. Dietsch may be given to St. Mary’s School.
