Robert Michael “Bobby” Godsey, age 14, of rural Edon, Ohio, (Columbia) died at 5:02 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana, after complications of liver transplant surgery. Bobby recently completed the eighth grade at Edon Northwest Schools, where he was a member of the football and baseball teams. Robert Michael “Bobby” Godsey was born on July 15, 1993, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Cathy Sue (Poletta) and Jesse R. C. Godsey, and they survive in Columbia, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Bobby is survived by his siblings, Kyle and Karly Finch, both of Bryan, Ohio, Renee Finch, of Montpelier, Ohio, Babette Riter, of Columbia, Ohio, Keri Richter, of Hudson, Indiana, and Jesse W. Godsey, of Lansing, Michigan, his grandmother, Janet Poletta, of Angola, Indiana, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jody Godsey. Services for Robert Michael “Bobby” Godsey will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Rick Beals officiating. Interment will follow in the Columbia Cemetery, near Edon, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 23. Memorials in the name of Robert Michael “Bobby” Godsey may be given to the Athletic Department at Edon Northwest Schools.
