View Video Tribute Jerold A. “Jerry” Carlin, 69, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, in his residence. Mr. Carlin served our country in the Ohio National Guard Army Reserve. He was a machine operator at Bard Manufacturing for 31 years, retiring in 2001. After his retirement, Mr. Carlin worked at the Montpelier Auto Auction as a driver for the past four years. He attended the Madison Church of God and the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233. Jerold A. “Jerry” Carlin was born on July 20, 1936, near Stryker, Ohio, the son of Clarence A. and Isabelle L. (Shaffer) Carlin. He married Erma G. Beverly on February 28, 1964, in Melbern United Methodist Church, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Carlin is survived by two daughters, Angelia (Jeff) Hartsock, of Pulaski, and Deborah (Timothy) Hilton, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Brandon Saurer, of Columbia, South Carolina, Dustin and Danielle Hartsock, both of Pulaski; two sisters, Bette Unger, of Bryan, Ohio, and Susann (Kenneth) Kipp, of Holgate, Ohio; three brothers, Dennis (Martha) Carlin, of Drummond Island, Michigan, Richard (Charlene) Carlin, of Bryan, and Jack (Donna) Shaffer, also of Bryan; a sister-in-law, Linda Carlin, of Bryan, and a brother-in-law, Merrill Whitlock, of Stryker. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clarence “Corky” Carlin, Jr., and one sister, Barbara Whitlock. Funeral services for Jerold A. “Jerry” Carlin will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2005, in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastors Robert Waggoner and Mike Wilder officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio. Visitation for Mr. Carlin will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2005, in the Krill Funeral Home. Memorials in the name of Jerold A. “Jerry” Carlin may be given to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Hospice Care or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
