Barbara A. Rice

Barbara A. Rice, age 59, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died on Friday, March 28, 2008, in her home after an illness of one year. She was a graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School in Fort Wayne. She was a member of the 3rd Street Church of God in Fort Wayne. Barbara A. Rice was born on December 25, 1948, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Howard and Delores M. (Fredrick) Minnick. Survivors include her mother, Delores Minnick Hall, of Fort Wayne, one son, Robert B. (Charlie) Rice, Jr., of Edgerton, Ohio, one daughter, Mary (Matt) Sordelet, of Fort, Wayne, eight grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Whittaker, Chad Fockler, Eric Rice, Cody Fockler, Raymond, Mariah, Sierra and Luke Sordelet, one great-grandchild, Jupiter Whittaker, and one sister, Diana James, of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Marie New. Memorial services for Barbara A. Rice will be on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in the 3rd Street Church of God in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
