Margaret M. Shiple, age 80, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 10:09 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, after a brief illness. Mrs. Shiple was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio, and her early working career included employment at Toledo Trust, Toledo Scale and with her husband at the Edgerton Hardware when they moved to Edgerton. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio. Margaret M. Shiple was born on October 26, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Peter L. and Cecilia E. (Schneider) Gaiffe. She married James J. Shiple on February 15, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Shiple is survived by two sons, James M. (Paula) Shiple, and Joseph Shiple, both of Edgerton, Ohio, two grandchildren, Philip (Rachelle) Shiple, of Antwerp, Ohio, and Stephanie (Chad) Everetts, of Edgerton, Ohio, two step-grandchildren, Jeff (Heather) Gruver, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Amy Gruver, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Corey and Casey Everetts, Dana Conley and Connar Shiple, and three step-great-grandchildren, Rachel, Catie and Adam Gruver. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Joseph Gaiffe. Services for Margaret M. Shiple will be on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, Ohio, with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery will be private. There will be no visitation. Memorials in the name of Margaret M. Shiple may be given to St. Mary’s School or Church or to Dream Haven in Edgerton, Ohio.
