Marcella K. Sailor

Marcella K. Sailor, age 93, died at 1:20 p.m on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, Kentucky, where she was a patient. Mrs. Sailor was a 1938 graduate of Bowling Green State University and was a teacher with the Edgerton Local Schools, retiring with twenty-seven years of service. She was a member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church, Williams County Retired Teachers Association, Evening Star Chapter #248, Order of the Eastern Star, and was active at the Edgerton Senior Center. Marcella K Sailor was born on May 9, 1915, in Farmer, Ohio, the daughter of Bruce and Wilma (Walker) Bercaw. She married Sebert M. “Bud” Sailor on February 24, 1940, in Auburn, Indiana, and he preceded her death on December 22, 1965. Mrs. Sailor is survived by one daughter, Debra (Tom) Hummel, of Edgewood, Kentucky, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Steve Sailor, and one brother, Lamar “Red” Bercaw. Services for Marcella K. Sailor will be private with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. There will be no visitation. Memorials in the name Marcella K. Sailor may be given to the Edgerton United Methodist Church.
