Lorraine M. Rockey, age 79, of Edon, Ohio, died at 11:35 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, in her home following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was a 60–year resident of Edon and a Florida winter resident for the past 24 years. Mrs. Rockey was a member of the Edon Church of Christ, where she was also a charter member of the Martha Society and sang with Molly’s Dollies. She served the Edon Northwest Schools as clerk/treasurer from 1960-1985 and was a bus driver for two years. Lorraine M. Rockey was born on March 5, 1930, in Hamilton, Indiana, the daughter of Harold and Wilma (Blair) Deetz. She married Marvin B. Rockey on June 5, 1948, at the Montpelier Church of Christ, Montpelier, Ohio, and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Les (Connie) Rockey, of Plant City, Florida, and Steve (Vicki) Rockey, of Edon; five grandchildren, Brett (Stacey) Rockey, Jason (Michelle) Rockey, Luke (Kari) Allen, Kiel Rockey and Kelsi (Jason) Robinett; two great-grandchildren, Katelin Rockey and Peyton Robinett; two brothers, Bob (Evelyn) Deetz, of Pioneer, Ohio, and Bill (Barbara) Deetz, of Montpelier; three sisters, Mary (George) Brandt, of Montpelier, Margie Buell, of Angola, Indiana, and Terry (Ron) Cain, of Spotsylvania, Virginia; and one brother-in-law, Orval (Virginia) Rockey, of Bryan. Services for Lorraine M. Rockey will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in the Edon Church of Christ, Edon, Ohio, with David LaDuke, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery, Edon, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009. Memorials in the name of Lorraine M. Rockey may be given to the Hospital Hospice and Home Health or the Edon Church of Christ.
