Lowell F. Bowers, age 81, of Alvordton, Ohio, died on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Montpelier, Ohio. Mr. Bowers graduated from West Unity High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy and World War II. He worked at the Sutton Super Value as a meat cutter and later retired from Sauder Woodworking. He was a lifetime member of the Pioneer VFW Post 8628. Lowell F. Bowers was born on February 8, 1927, in West Unity, Ohio, the son of Ernest and Thelma (Stantz) Bowers. He married Margaret C. Pollock on March 21, 1949, in Angola, Indiana. Mr. Bowers was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother. Mr. Bowers is survived by his wife, Margaret C. Bowers, his children, Leanna C. Bowers, of Alvordton, Ohio, and Owen A. (Cindy) Bowers, of Archbold, Ohio, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister. Services for Lowell F. Bowers will be on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Madison Church of God, County Road N-65, Montpelier, Ohio 43543, with Pastor Walter Hicks officiating. Visitation will be at the Madison Church of God, County Road N-65, Montpelier, Ohio 43543, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, with military rites conducted by the Pioneer VFW Post 8628 following the service.
