Betty B. Gearhart

Betty B. Gearhart, age 82, of Edon, Ohio, died at 9:38 p.m on Friday, June 27, 2008, in Cameron Memorial Hospital in Angola, where she had been a patient since Tuesday. Mrs. Gearhart was a graduate of East Sparta High School and the Canton College of Beauty Culture and operated Betty’s Beauty Shoppe for ten years. She was a member of the Edon Church of Christ and Gideons International. Betty B. Gearhart was born on September 4, 1925, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, the daughter of Alfred E. and Lona B. (Kirby) Winzenreid. She married W. Gene Gearhart on December 9, 1949, in Edon, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1996. Mrs. Gearhart is survived by four sons, Kim (Laura) Gearhart, of Edon, Ohio, Dale (Susan) Gearhart, of Montpelier, Ohio, Mike Gearhart, of Apopka, Florida, and Andy (Kerri) Gearhart, of Edon, Ohio, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Iva Mae Keller, of Marysville, Tennessee, and one brother, Jack (Ellen) Winzenreid, of Athens, Alabama. Services for Betty B. Gearhart will be on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Dean Phillips officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Edon Cemetery. Memorials the name of Betty B. Gearhart may be given to Gideons International or to the Edon Church of Christ.
