Jose G. Alfaro, age 49, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 1:18 p.m. on Monday, January, 12, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a patient, after an illness of several months. Mr. Alfaro had been employed by Campbell Soup, DURA Corporation and, most recently, Air-Way Manufacturing in Edgerton, Ohio. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio. Jose G. Alfaro was born on June 25, 1959, in Araro, Mexico, the son of Jose G. and Maria Lus (Garcia) Alfaro. He is survived by his father in Mexico, three brothers, Gabriel Alfaro, of LaGrange, Indiana, Arturo Alfaro, of Santa Cruz, California, and Tarciosio Alfaro, of Morilea, Mexico, and three sisters, Malena Alfaro, of Sacramento, California, Ines Alfaro and Yolanda Alfaro, both of Morilea, Mexico. Also surviving are his longtime companion, Susan Hughart, of Edgerton, her children, Jessica (Scott) Sprunger, of Butler, Indiana, and Tonya (Jack) Spencer, of Summersville, West Virginia, and her grandchildren, Jordan and Tristan Sprunger and Benton Spencer. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Eugenio Alfaro. Services for Jose G. Alfaro will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, Ohio, with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Edgerton. Visitation will be held in Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, on Friday, January 16, from 4-8 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 8:00 p.m. Memorials in the name of Jose G. Alfaro may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
