Fredrick D. Bittinger, 59, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 1:02 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, in the emergency room at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, Ohio. An Army Veteran of the Vietanm Conflict, he was a laborer for the Dalton Corporation, Stryker, for five years. He had also worked for Allied Security in Archbold and the former Hayes-Albion Corporation. He was a member of Grace Community Church, Bryan, where he was active in the Toy Ministry, the Men’s Bible Study and Celebrate Recovery. Fredrick D. Bittinger was born on December 3, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of George L. Sr. and Jessie Lenora (Penn) Bittinger. He married Jean A. Perkins on March 29, 1980, in West Unity, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Sara (Eric) Jensen of Liberty Center, Ohio, one son, Julian “Jake” (Shonna) Bittinger, of Napoleon, Ohio; grandchildren, Kaylei, Eric, Joseph, Cristine and Rebecca Jensen; his mother, Jessie Bittinger, of Bryan, three brothers, George L. Bittinger, Jr. of Bryan, Robert (Bonnie) Bittinger, of Lyons, Ohio, and Dennis (Candace) Bittinger, of Michigan; two sisters, Patricia (Richard) Phillips, of Fayette, and Pamela Gambler, of Montpelier, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services for Fredrick D. Bittinger will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2005, in Grace Community Church, 206 Bement Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Mike Kelly and Pastor Sam Byroads officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Bittinger will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2005, in the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the church. Memorials in the name of Fredrick D. Bittinger may be directed to the family.
