Helen E. Starr, 87 years, formerly of Edon, Ohio, died on Saturday, December 24, 2005, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Center in Montpelier, Ohio, where she had been a resident the past four years. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Union Church and a homemaker. Helen E. Starr was born on September 18, 1918, in Edon, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Litha (Ricketts) Darr. She married Weldon W. Starr on October 24, 1936, in Auburn, Indiana, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Starr is survived by her three sons, Wayne A. (Kay) Starr, of Holland, Ohio, Robert D. (Carol) Starr, of Pemberville, Ohio, and Jon E. (Danica) Starr, of Columbus, Ohio, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ilah Disbro and Susie Willibey, and one brother, Gerald Darr. Visitation for Helen E. Starr will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Edon, Ohio, with her grandson, Reverend Kevin Starr, officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Helen E. Starr may be given to Bethlehem Christian Union Church, Edon, Ohio.
