Eileen Marie Smith, age 84, of Hamilton, Indiana, died on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at her winter residence in Dover, Florida. Mrs. Smith was salutatorian of her graduating class from Edon High School. She went on to receive an Associate’s Degree from Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana. A homemaker, who was an avid gardener and quilter, Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Blakeslee, Ohio, the Rosary Altar Society, and the Farm Bureau. She worked as a teller at Edon State Bank, Edon, Ohio and as a clerk at Sears in Bryan, Ohio. Eileen Marie Smith was born on March 22, 1923, near Edon, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence and Laoma (Kelble) Siebenaler. She married Ted A. Smith on May 6, 1944, in Blakeslee, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2006. Mrs. Smith is survived by four sons, Gary Smith, of Delroy, Ohio, (and Kathy Smith, of Canton, Ohio), Alan (Mary Lynn) Smith, of Alexandria, Virginia, Dana (Linda) Smith, of Auburn, Illinois, and Lynn (Karen) Smith, of Franklin, Tennessee, two daughters, Janet (Ed) Morr, of Edon, Ohio, and Maryann (Perry) Asuncion, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Gerry (Lee) Siebenaler, of Bryan, Ohio, and two sisters-in-law, Honey Moore, of Montpelier, Ohio, and LeAnn Siebenaler, of Bryan, Ohio. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Elliott Biehl, and four brothers, Lavon, Anthony, Lamar, and Clair Siebenaler. Services for Eileen Marie Smith will be on Monday, March 10, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Blakeslee, with Father Stephen Schroeder and Father Fred Duschl officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Blakeslee. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, with recitation of the rosary to follow at 8:30 p.m. Memorials in the name of Eileen Marie Smith may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Blakeslee, Ohio.
