William J. Sickmiller, age 81, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan, where he was a patient. Mr. Sickmiller was the owner of J & P janitorial service in Cadillac, Michigan, and retired as an over-the-road truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, a life member of V.F.W. Post #8932 in Flour Bluff, Texas, and a life member of Williams County DAV Post 83. William J. Sickmiller was born on April 11, 1926, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Elmer Grover and Netta (Stoll) Sickmiller. He married Patricia Ann Barber on September 9, 1952, in Lake City, Michigan, and she preceded him in death on August 12, 2000. Mr. Sickmiller is survived by one daughter, Deborah Ann Martin, of Bryan, Ohio, one son, Dale D. Sickmiller, of Texas, two grandchildren, Duane Tollison, of New York, New York, and Erline Jenkins, of Atlanta, Georgia, and one great-granddaughter, Tabitha Jenkins, of Atlanta. He is also survived by one sister, Betty Sharp, of Sand Lake, Michigan, two brothers, Robert (Maxine) Sickmiller, of Cedar Springs, Michigan, and Ralph (Bernie) Sickmiller of Leesburg, Florida, several nieces and nephews, and his close friend, Polly Oxender, of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia, two sons, Donald Ray Sickmiller and Duane Sickmiller, a son-in-law, Mike Martin, and three brothers, Rev. E Charles Sickmiller, James Sickmiller and Rev. Marvin Sickmiller. There will be no visitation for Mr. Sickmiller and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
