Harry J. Rigdon, age 77, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:28 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, Ohio, where he was a patient. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Rigdon was a 1958 graduate of Miami University and then graduated from the University of Toledo School of Law in 1966. He was a partner in the law firm of Weaver, Weaver and Rigdon from 1967-1979 and served as the Williams County Probate and Juvenile Court Judge from 1979 until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Ohio Bar Association, the Williams County Bar Association, the Ohio Juvenile and Family Court Judges Association and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2489, American Legion Post #284 and Disabled American Veterans. He was also an avid fisherman and woodworker. Harry J. Rigdon was born on June 3, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Earle and Amy Millicent (Bishop) Rigdon. He married Bonnie Smith on June 7, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are a brother, Howard B. Rigdon, of Costa Mesa, California, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Walter L., and a sister, Marilyn. Services for Harry L. Rigdon will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan, Ohio. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the church. Memorials in the name of Judge Harry J. Rigdon may be given to the Bryan Area Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
