Silvia Elizabeth Furrow, age 94, of Bryan, Ohio, died on Monday, May 4, 2009, at 10:40 a.m. in Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, Ohio, after a brief illness. Mrs. Furrow was an upholsterer at The Holabird Company in Bryan, retiring in 1975 with thirty years of service. She was an avid Bible reader and card player and loved to crochet. Silvia Elizabeth Furrow was born on December 2, 1914, in Butler, Indiana, the daughter of James and Ettia (Shaver) Murray. She married Alonzo Furrow on March 9, 1935, in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Furrow is survived by two sons, Lonnie (Lela) Furrow and Jim Furrow, both of Bryan, Ohio, three daughters, DeFloy (DeWayne) Dick and Laura (Roy) Chapman, both of Bryan, Ohio, and Sally (Robert) Waldvogel, of Stryker, Ohio, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Clyde, Sam, James, Orlo and John Murray, three sisters, Mildred Geliede, Muriel Petersen and Ellen Partee, three stepsisters and two stepbrothers. Visitation for Silvia E. Furrow will be on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery. Memorials in the name of Silvia E. Furrow may be given to the American Diabetes Association or to the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
