Lloyd McClellan, age 94, of rural Butler, Indiana, died Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Laurels of DeKalb, Butler, where he was a resident. He was a lifelong farmer. He served two terms on the Eastside School Board in Butler and also served the school system as a bus driver for several years. Lloyd McClellan was born on April 13, 1911, in DeKalb County, Indiana, the son of Jesse and Laura (Nichols) McClellan. He married Charlotte L. Cassel on March 22, 1934, near Angola, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on April 9, 1995. Mr. McClellan is survived by two sons, Rex (Peggy) McClellan, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Terry (Linda) McClellan, Auburn, Indiana; five grandchildren; two sisters, H. Marie Douglas, Fort Myers, Florida, and Wanda Maxton, Angola. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Glen, and one sister, Iva Slentz. Visitation for Lloyd McClellan will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Gleason officiating. Burial will follow in Eddy Cemetery, Hamilton, Indiana. Memorials in the name of Lloyd McClellan may be made to Future Farmers of America or a charity of the donor’s choice.
