Casimir P. Herman, age 95, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2005, at Park View Nursing Center, where he was a resident. Mr. Herman was a lifelong farmer and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio. Casimir P. Herman was born March 3, 1910, near Edgerton, Ohio, the son of August and Bertha L. (Goebel) Herman. He married Kathryn G. Batt on January 6, 1932, at Marysdale, and she preceded him in death on November 1, 2002. Mr. Herman is survived by three daughters, Mary Kathryn Burns, Bryan, Ohio, Mrs. Darrel (Barbara) Thiel, Edgerton, and Mrs. Richard (Elaine) Mohley, of Hicksville, Ohio, and four sons, Donald (Ruth), Ambrose (Mary), Cletus (Rita), all of Edgerton, and Edward (Nancy), Southern Pines, North Carolina, thirty-six grandchildren, ninety-eight great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Rose Karnes, of Edgerton, and a son-in-law, Robert Arend, of Hicksville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Arend, his twin brother, Murwin X. Herman, and three great-grandchildren. Services for Casimir P. Herman will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, with recitation of the rosary at 8:00 p.m. Memorials in the name of Casimir P. Herman may be given to St. Mary’s School or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
