Mary J. Colon, age 80, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bryan, Ohio, after a brief illness. Mrs. Colon was a 1947 graduate of Bryan High School. She was a member of Bryan Eagles Lodge, Aerie #2233 and will be remembered for her humor. Mary J. Colon was born on April 13, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Charles S. and Alta I. (Clinker) Boucher. She married Hazen “George” Colon on July 4, 1948, in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death in May of 1992. Mrs. Colon is survived by three sons, Mark S. (Christy) Colon and Brad (Cathy) Colon, both of Bryan, Ohio, and Jack (Cindy) Colon, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, four grandchildren, Todd (Tory) O’Daniel, of Asheville, North Carolina, Matthew Cotter, of Chicago, Illinois, Chelsea Cotter, of Bryan, Ohio, and Michael Newman, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and one great-grandchild, Ephraim O’Daniel, of Asheville, North Carolina. She is also survived by a sister, Shirley (Duane) Taylor, in Florida and a brother, Melvin (Jane) Boucher, of Toledo, Ohio. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Visitation for Mary J. Colon will be on Friday, May 8, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Charles Ritter officiating. Memorials in the name of Mary J. Colon may be given to St. Patrick Catholic Church or to the Bryan Senior Center.
