View Video Tribute Larry Goebel, age 64, of rural Edgerton, Ohio, died Saturday, September 17, 2005 in his home of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Goebel was an employee of the Aro Corporation with 27 years of service. He was a 1959 graduate of Edgerton High School where he was a member of the 1959 state championship basketball team. He was also a member of the Melbern United Methodist Church where he was president of the church board, and a member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. Larry Goebel was born December 22, 1940 near Stryker, Ohio the son of Omar N. and Bertha M. (Wetmore) Goebel. He married Helen L. Strup on April 25, 1964 in Melbern, Ohio and she survives In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Larry “Butch” (Kristi) Goebel, of Columbus, Ohio, and one daughter, DeeAnn Goebel, of Dublin, Ohio, and 3 grandchildren, Benjamin, Brendan and Brianna Goebel. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Phyllis Muehlfeld. Servcices for Larry L. Goebel will be Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Diane Schaffner officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio with graveside military rites conducted by Johns D. Smith Post #10, of the American Legion. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20. Memorials in the name of Larry L. Goebel may be given to the Melbern United Methodist Church.
