Laura Louise Calvin Hoag, age 91, passed away in her home on Monday, March 16, at 8:20 p.m. Born on December 12, 1917, to Dale and Daisy Calvin, she first met Jesus and invited him into her life at age 16--trusting and following him and as a result loving and serving others. Louise grew into a loving, gracious woman who held a special place in her heart for all children. During WWII she worked and waited with perseverance for the other love of her life, Norman, to come home from the service. As together they raised their family of six, she made time for other children as well. For many years she taught Good News Clubs in her home--introducing neighborhood children to the good news of Jesus' love for them. She was known for her hospitality and quick-witted humor and never met a person she did not like. Now after a lengthy illness, she is truly home with her Savior Jesus Christ, daughter Julia, parents and brother, Dana Calvin, and sister, Wilda Snyder. This gracious lady is affectionately remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Norm, and children, Jennifer (Chuck) Brock, Rosa Lee (Phil) Janaro, Jon (Shelley) Hoag, Dan (Patience) Hoag, and Mary (Bob) Lloyd, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild who await a joyous reunion one day. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 4, at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Community Church, 15627 U.S. Highway 127 EW, Bryan, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Community Pregnancy Centers of NW Ohio, Hospice of Williams/Fulton Counties or New Hope Community Church.
