View Video Tribute Jeffery Scott Kurtz, age 49, of Edon, Ohio, died at 1:33 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, Ohio, where he was a patient for five days. Jeffery Scott Kurtz was born on August 14, 1957, at Hillsdale, Michigan, the son of Carleton Wesley “Whistle” and Phyllis Jean (Martenies) Kurtz. Mr. Kurtz is survived by his mother, Phyllis Kurtz, of Jackson, Michigan, a son, Jeffery Scott Kurtz II, and two grandchildren, Alexis Jo and Brady, all of Lima, Ohio, his brothers and sisters, Jean (Waylon) Archer, of Texarkana, Arkansas, Sue Johnston, of Laughlen, Nevada, Carleton (Arlene) Kurtz, Jr., of Camden, Michigan, Charles Kurtz, of Camden, Michigan, Mrs. Jack (Dawn) Dean and Sam Nickells, of Edon, Ohio, Deb (John) Mathis, of Spencer, Indiana, Dennis (Cindy) Kurtz, of Edgerton, Ohio, Claudia (Jim) Richards, of Jackson, Michigan, twenty-two nephews and nieces and a special friend, “Fry,” of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Carleton Wesley Kurtz, in 1975, a brother, David Kurtz, in 1981 and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Services for Jeffery Scott Kurtz will be on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at 3:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Interment will be in Camden, Michigan. Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, Ohio, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, May 25. Memorials in the name of Jeffery Scott Kurtz may be given to the Edon Summer Ball Program.
