View Video Tribute Bessie L. Parrish, age 92, of Edon, Ohio, died at 10:40 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2005 in Park View Nursing Home where she was a resident. A longtime Edon resident, Mrs. Parrish was a homemaker and avid gardener. She was a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club, the Northwest Grange and the Nettle Lake Grandmother’s Club. Bessie L. Parrish was born June 30, 1913 in Paulding County, Ohio the daughter of Nay and Goldie (Blaine) Thrasher. She married Paul J. Parrish on February 14, 1935 in Paulding County. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1992.. Mrs. Parrish is survived by three sons, William, of Edgerton, Ohio, Howard (Marilyn) Parrish, of Edon, Ohio and Daniel (Mary) Parrish, of Edmund, Oklahoma, two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Marilyn) Iott, of Deerfield, Michigan and Mrs. Shirley Kinner, of North Post, Florida and a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Parrish, of Defiance, Ohio. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, Twenty-three great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren and two sisters, Faye Manon and Mary Carroll, both of Defiance. In addition to her husband she was preceded by one son, Harold Parrish, four brothers, Dennis, Russell, Ray and Pat Thrasher and four sisters, Opal Pessefall, Evelyn Overly, Gertrude Thrasher and Gladys Burkhart and one great-granddaughter, Raven Parrish. Services for Bessie L. Parrish will be Monday, August 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, Ohio with Pastor Donald Leckrone officiating. Burial will follow in the Edon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 14. Memorials in the name of Bessie L. Parrish may be given to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Hospice Care or to the Park View Nursing Center Activity Fund.
