James Perry McCavit

James Perry “Big Jim” McCavit, age 71, of rural Farmer, Ohio, died at 3:05 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009, in his home from ongoing medical complications. Mr. McCavit was a graduate of Farmer High School and made a career of driving truck, with many years as an owner/operator. He was a member of the Farmer United Methodist Church and the Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233. His hobbies were his children and his love of sports. James Perry McCavit was born on May 11, 1938, in Farmer, Ohio, the son of Ted and Myra (Perry) McCavit. He is survived by his children, Chris (Sam) Switzer, of Defiance, Ohio, Wayne (Brenda) McCavit, of Edgerton, Ohio, Cindy (Jamie) Corral, of Bowling Green, Ohio, and J.T. (Amy) McCavit, of Farmer, Ohio, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Jack (Sherry) McCavit, of Pampa, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services for James Perry McCavit will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Reverend Ron Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Farmer American Legion. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. and 5:00-8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. All friends and relatives are invited to a Celebration of Life dinner at the Ney American Legion, Ney, Ohio, following committal services. Memorials in the name of James Perry McCavit may be given to Hospital Hospice and Home Health or to the American Diabetes Association.
