H. Lyle Cary, age 78, of Hamilton, Indiana, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Cary was employed as a machinist with Pittsfield of Indiana in Hamilton, Indiana, retiring with forty-two years of service. He was a member of the Hamiliton United Methodist Church and formerly served on the Board of Zoning Appeals of Steuben County. He was also an avid flight enthusiast, learning to fly before he could drive a car. H. Lyle Cary was born on April 2, 1930, near Hamilton, Indiana, the son of Erwin G. and Helen (Merriett) Cary. He married Orpha L. Eddy on December 31, 1951, in Hamilton, Indiana, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Eric (Susan) Cary, of Ligonier, Indiana, and David Cary, of Hamilton, Indiana, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a son-in-law, Ron Miller, of Montpelier, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Jeanne Miller, in 1991 and one brother, Robert Cary. A memorial service for H. Lyle Cary will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hamilton United Methodist Church with Pastor Jack Smith officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Hamilton United Methodist Church. Memorials in the name of H.
