Laura L. Hug, age 49, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice in Defiance, Ohio. Mrs. Hug was a 1978 graduate of Edon High School. She was employed at Spangler Candy Company, Bryan, Ohio, as a sales secretary for twenty-two years and at Strup Insurance Agency, Edgerton, Ohio, as an agent for twelve years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio. Laura L. Hug was born on December 9, 1959, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Marvin J. and Norma D. (Manges) Thiel. She married Van J. Hug on November 22, 1996, in Bryan, Ohio, and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Andy (Tiffany Landers) Eich, of Auburn, Indiana, and Joe (Sofia Serrano) Eich, of Montpelier, Ohio, two stepsons, Trevor Hug, of Tiffin, Ohio, and Ethan Hug, of Edgerton, Ohio, two sisters, Susan Thiel, of Ayersville, Ohio, and Jacquith Imm, of Blakeslee, Ohio, and two brothers, Robert (Tricia) Thiel and Alan Thiel, both of Blakeslee, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services for Laura L. Hug will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, Ohio, with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, February 27, 2009, from 2-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Laura L. Hug may be given to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
