View Video Tribute Frank Beals, Jr., 78, of Bryan, Ohio, died Monday, January 23, 2006, at 8:26 a.m. in Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, Ohio, where he had been a patient for the past six days. Mr. Beals was the former Bryan Chief of Police from 1959 until his retirement in 1977. He began as a police officer with the Bryan Police Department in 1950. An Army veteran, he was a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge #312 and the Bryan Masonic Lodge. He recently attended the First Church of Christ in Bryan. Frank was an accomplished woodworker and spent many hours crafting keepsakes in his shop. Frank Beals, Jr. was born on June 26, 1927, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Frank, Sr. and Mamie (Anthony) Beals. He married Marseille Spire on September 5, 1950, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Beals is survived by two daughters, Terry McBroom, of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, and Debbie (Rock) Dunlap, of Conyers, Georgia; four grandchildren, Cheri (Andy) Matyk, of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, Mark (Mary) McBroom, of Seminole, Florida, Rocky (Maria) Dunlap, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Rochelle Dunlap, of Conyers, Georgia; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Connor, Madison and Grant McBroom and Andrew and Amanda Matyk. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Steven McBroom, two half-brothers, Calvin and Ralph Rosendaul, and one half-sister, Leota Cronk. Funeral services for Frank Beals, Jr. will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2006, in the First Church of Christ, 129 North Walnut Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, rural Bryan, with military grave side rites by the Bryan V.F.W. Post 2484. Visitation for Mr. Beals will be held on Friday, January 27, 2006, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
