Elmer W. Frank, age 83, of rural Hicksville, Ohio, died at 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, in Fountain Park Assisted Living in Bryan, Ohio, where he was a resident. He was a lifelong farmer and had been in failing health for about a year. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hicksville, Ohio, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, John L. Fahy Post #5665 in Sherwood, Ohio. Mr. Frank was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Asiatic Pacific 440th Construction Signal Battalion as a TEC. He had received several medals for his service. Elmer William Frank was born on July 24, 1922, in Highland Township of Defiance County, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Mary (Kustvan) Frank. He married Irene Fuleki on February 20, 1960, in Blakeslee, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Benny and Stephen Frank. Services for Elmer W. Frank will be Friday, December 23, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, with Father Thomas Oedy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Blakeslee, Ohio, with grave side military rites conducted by VFW Post #5665 of Sherwood, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 22. Memorials in the name of Elmer W. Frank may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
