Maxine J. Hawkins, age 91, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:15 A.M. on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, where she was a resident. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the Edgerton Church of Christ and the Ladies Aide. Maxine J. Hawkins was born on September 23, 1918, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Ernest R. and Lucille (Meyers) Warner. She married Eldon A. Hawkins on June 19, 1941, in Montpelier, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1995. Mrs. Hawkins is survived by one daughter, Sandra J. Fitzenrider, one son, Thomas Hawkins, both of Edgerton, four grandchildren, Shelly (Jose) Rivera, Susan (Brad) Motter, Shari (Pete, Jr. ) Mills, and Shannon (Tracey Reliford, Jr.) Clark, all of Edgerton. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Phyllis (Ken) Mack, and a brother-in-law, Victor Collie, of Montpelier. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrene Free and Ruth Collie, and two brothers, Dick and Bob Warner. Visitation for Maxine J. Hawkins will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. in the Edgerton Church of Christ with D.V. Dillinger, Minister, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton. Memorials in the name of Maxine J. Hawkins may be given to the Edgerton Church of Christ, the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio or the American Diabetes Association.
