Mildred Smith, age 76, of rural Edon, Ohio, died at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2005 in her home after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Northwest Township. Mildred Smith was born July 10, 1929, in Northwest Township, Williams County, Ohio, the daughter of James and Ruth (Boyer) Ellis. She married Virgil Smith in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1971. Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Carol and Betty Smith, both of rural Edon, Ohio, two sons, John Smith and Steven Joe (Sharon) Smith, also of rural Edon, Ohio, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.. She is also survived by one sister, Oletha Lampman, of rural Edon. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Smith in 1969, two sons, James and William, one infant son and one sister, Thelma Rose. Services for Mildred Smith will be Monday, December 19, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Columbia Church of Christ with Pastor Paul Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 18. Memorials in the name of Mildred Smith may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
