Donald R. Partee, age 80, of Bryan, Ohio, died on Monday, October 13, 2008, at Harborside Healthcare of Northwestern Ohio, where he was a resident. Mr. Partee was a 1946 graduate of Bryan High School and a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II in Europe. He was employed as a woodworker and supervisor at the former Holabird Furniture Company in Bryan, Ohio, for 36 years and then employed at Montpelier Hospital in maintenance for 15 years until his retirement in 2000. He was also a member of the First Brethren Church in Bryan, a life member of the VFW Post #2489, serving as a Trustee and with the Honor Guard Firing Squad, a life member of the Military Order of Cooties, Pup Tent 16, and a life member of the Berlin Airlift Veterans Association. Donald R. Partee was born on August 10, 1928, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Edward and Belle (Ruff) Partee. He married Ellen Murray and she preceded him in death in 1990. He married Jane M. Bowers on November 10, 1991, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Robert Partee, of Fayette, Ohio, one daughter, Carol (Robert) Vasko, of Bryan, Ohio, one stepdaughter, Kila (Cliff) Wineland, of Bryan, Ohio, six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, two great-grandsons, and two stepgreat-grandsons. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eugenia Partee and Betty Reader. Services for Donald R. Partee will be on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Fred Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in Shiffler Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Memorials in the name of Donald R. Partee may be given to the First Brethren Church.
