Donald R. Stuart

Donald R. Stuart, age 79, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, where he had been a patient for a week. Mr. Stuart was employed as a truck mechanic at International Harvester in Fort Wayne, Indiana, retiring in 1983 with thirty-six years of service. He then managed the Edgerton Wash and Fill for ten years and then managed the Waterloo Speedi-mart for twelve years, retiring in 2004. Mr. Stuart was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio. Donald R. Stuart was born on September 9, 1929, in Cecil, Ohio, the son of Cecil and Flossie (Gordon) Stuart. He married Marietta Reas on December 30, 1952, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Rena Bowen, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Machelle (John) Pepple, of Waterloo, Indiana, a grandson, Cody Collin, of Waterloo, Indiana, and a step-grandson, Jim Pepple, also of Waterloo. Visitation for Donald R. Stuart will be on Thursday, February 26, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio. Services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, Ohio, with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Edgerton with grave side military rites conducted by John D. Smith Post #10 of the Edgerton American Legion. Memorials in the name of Donald R. Stuart may be given to St. Mary Catholic School or Church.
