Don C. Hey, age 68, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 10:25 P.M. on Saturday, September 26, 2009, in his home after a brief illness. Mr. Hey was a 1959 graduate of Wren High School and graduated from Toledo Barber College in 1960. He operated D&D Barber Shop for nearly fifty years in Bryan. Don had been a member of the Tri-State Auto Club, of which he served as treasurer and was a booster of the Bryan Little Bears. He was an avid woodworker, outdoorsman and sportsman. Don C. Hey was born on February 11, 1941, in Van Wert, Ohio, the son of Warren C. and Nina Evelyn (Dull) Hey. He married Sandra K. Schumm on August 28, 1960, in Wren, Ohio, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife, Sandra, are two daughters, Deborah (Dan) Hasselswerth, of Defiance, Ohio, and Holly (Lee Fearnside) Hey, of Perrysburg, Ohio, one son, Jeffrey Hey, of Bryan, and two grandsons, Don Hasselswerth, of Defiance, and Alex Hey, of Bryan. A gathering celebrating the life of Don C. Hey will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2009, from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be private. Memorials in the name of Don C. Hey may be given to the Hospital Hospice and Home Health Care, Bryan Little Bear Football and the Bryan varsity football and wrestling programs.
