Paul W. "Doc" Thomas, D.C., age 79, of Defiance, Ohio, died at 11:34 A.M. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, shortly after admittance to Defiance Regional Medical Center. Dr. Thomas was a chiropractor, practicing in Defiance for thirty years until his retirement in 2002. He was a graduate of Montpelier High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1951-1955. He was a 1965 graduate of Palmer Chiropractic School. Dr. Thomas was a member of VFW Post #3360, Am-Vets Post #1991 and American Legion Post #117, all in Defiance. He was also a member of Defiance Eagles Aerie #372. Paul W. Thomas, D.C. was born on August 19, 1930, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of B. Franklin and Anna L. (Farley) Thomas. He is survived by two sons, Bruce Thomas, of Stryker, Ohio, and Brad Thomas, of Defiance, Ohio; a daughter, Leisha Enos, of Stryker, Ohio; three grandchildren, Nicolle and Tyler Thomas and Cody Enos, and two great-grandchildren, Zade and Ava. He is also survived by a sister, Millie Kepler, of Chicago, Illinois, and a brother, George E. Thomas, of Montpelier, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and LeRoy. Visitation for Paul W. Thomas, D.C. will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Grave side services for Mr. Thomas will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier, Ohio, with Father James Halleron officiating. Grave side military rites conducted by Defiance VFW Post #3360 will follow. Memorials in the name of Paul W. Thomas, D.C. may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
