Maurice E. Vitale, age 88, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Vitale was a graduate of Purdue University and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was vice president of sales at Bryan Metals and then was a sales representative for Bryan Metals and Regal Steel until his retirement. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan, Ohio, Bryan Knights of Columbus Council #1915, Bishop Rappe Assembly, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Bryan Rotary, Bryan VFW #2489, and was a former board member and past president of Bryan Junior Achievement. Maurice E. Vitale was born on February 22, 1920, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of Alexander J. and Agnes M. (Chiesa) Vitale. He married Inez E. Bellettini on June 6, 1951, in Benld, Illinois, and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Mary Vitale, of Bryan, Ohio, a brother, John Vitale, of Venice, Florida, and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, James Vitale. Services for Maurice E. Vitale will be on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, Ohio, with Father Charles Ritter officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, December 5. Recitation of the rosary will be at 8:00 p.m on Friday. Memorials in the name of Maurice E. Vitale may be given to St. Patrick Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
