View Video Tribute William J. Kunsman, age 88, of Edon, Ohio, died at 1:24 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, shortly after admittance to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. Mr. Kunsman was employed by White Motors in Montpelier for twenty years and then by Challenge- Cook Brothers in Bryan, Ohio, for sixteen years before retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Edon United Methodist Church and attended the Montpelier Central United Brethren Church. He was also a member of the Edon Masonic Lodge, where he was to have received his 50-year pin soon. William J. Kunsman was born August 25, 1917, in Edon, Ohio, the son of Glenn C. and Florence M. (Shephard) Kunsman. He married Opal Dirr on January 13, 1937, in New Bavaria, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on September 9, 1995. He then married Aletzia Bohner on June 16, 1996, in Montpelier, Ohio, and she survives. I n addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Connie Bidwell, of Edon, Ohio, Judy (Ron) Long, of Springville, Alabama, four sons, Jerry Kunsman, of Yuba City, California, Bill (Sharon) Kunsman, of Lancaster, California, Robert (Melinda) Kunsman, of Bryan, Ohio, and Mick (Gail) Kunsman, of Yuba City, California. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, two stepsons, Joseph (Shirley) Bohner, of Holgate, Ohio, and Daniel (Brenda) Bohner, of Montpelier, Ohio, five stepgrandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, one brother, Charles Kunsman, of Bryan, Ohio, and two sisters, Joy Meeks, of Edon, Ohio, and Amy Keller, of Angola, Indiana. In addition to his first wife, Opal, he was preceded in death by one son, Richard, and one daughter, Beverly, two grandchildren and two brothers. Services for William J. Kunsman will be Monday, September 19, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Mike Martinelli officiating. Burial will follow in the Edon Cemetery, Edon, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, with a Masonic service to be conducted by the Edon Masonic Lodge 474 at 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials in the name of William J. Kunsman may be given to Montpelier Central United Brethren Church or to the Edon Senior Center.
