Maurice E. Snyder, age 87, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:20 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Community Hospital and Wellness Center in Montpelier, Ohio. Mr. Snyder was a graduate of Ney High School and earned his associate's degree in accounting from the International Business College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during WWII from 1942-1945. He was employed as a traffic controller at The Aro Corporation in Bryan, Ohio, retiring in 1983 with 38 years of service. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan, Ohio, a former member of the Bryan Moose Lodge #1064, and loved woodworking, gardening and yard work. Maurice E. Snyder was born on August 12, 1921, in Ney, Ohio, the son of Britt Clyde and Lura May (Haase) Snyder. He married Marguerite Allen on February 23, 1946, in Ney, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2003. Mr. Snyder is survived by two daughters, Mary (James) Heisler, of Bryan, Ohio, and Marcia (Dave) Hanenkratt, of Bryan, Ohio, one son, Marvin (Lynn) Snyder, of Orlando, Florida, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Allan Snyder. Services for Maurice E. Snyder will be on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan, Ohio. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery, Farmer, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2008, prior to the service at Wesley United Methodist Church. Memorials in the name of Maurice E. Snyder may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church or to the Rehabilitation Center at Community Hospital and Wellness Center in Montpelier, Ohio.
