Donald K. Lyons

Donald K. Lyons, age 97, of Edon, Ohio, died at 11:25 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Evergreen Manor in Montpelier, Ohio, after an extended illness. Mr. Lyons was a truck driver for Pet Milk, Angola, Indiana, for several years, an auto hauler for Studebaker for twenty years and then a truck driver with Simpson Industries for four years. He was a member of Edon United Methodist Church. Donald L. Lyons was born on October 13, 1911, in Rankin, Illinois, the son of August and Mary Elizabeth (Carlson) Lyons. He married Evelyn Underwood in 1937, and she preceded him in death in 1955. He then married Maude (Gaby) Mills on September 21, 1957, and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2003. Mr. Lyons is survived by one son, Kenneth (Ruth Ann) Lyons, of Edon, Ohio, one daughter, Carolyn (Jim) Roesener, of Camden, Michigan, eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, two stepsons, Pete (Bonnie) Mills, of Edon, Ohio, and John Mills, of LaGrange, Indiana, and one stepdaughter, Sharon Mills, of Montpelier, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, a son, Roger Lyons, and a stepdaughter, Donna Hayes. Services for Donald K. Lyons will be on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19. Memorials in the name of Donald K. Lyons may be given to Edon United Methodist Church.
