Harold D. Miller, age 88, of Edon, Ohio, died at 11:40 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008, at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a patient. Mr. Miller was a 1938 graduate of Edon High School and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II as a military policeman. He was a lifelong farmer, an avid horseman and held memberships with the Williams County Horsemen’s Association, the Edon Church of Christ, Edon American Legion Post #662 and Montpelier Moose Lodge #312. Harold D. Miller was born on September 15, 1920, in Northwest Township of Williams County, Ohio, the son of Charles Franklin and Elda (Norrick) Miller. He married Marjorie Smith on April 17, 1949, in Edon, Ohio, and she survives. Mr. Miller is also survived by two daughters, Marsha Kay (Bill) Balon, of Elkhart, Indiana, and Jeanne Rae (David) Magnuson, of Edon, Ohio, four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one brother, William (Linda) Miller, of Bryan, Ohio, and two sisters, Nola (Jack) Sutton, of Edon and Dorothy Brandeberry, of Angola, Indiana. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Raymond, Everett and Martin Miller, and one sister, Sarah Miller. Services for Harold D. Miller will be on Monday, November 10, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Minister David LaDuke officiating. Interment will follow in the Edon Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Edon American Legion Post #662. Visitation will in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, November 9. Memorials in the name of Harold D. Miller may be given to the Williams County Horsemen’s Association.
