Mary C. Bowers, age 80, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 8:50 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she was a patient. Mrs. Bowers attended Bryan First Baptist Church and Silver Creek Church of the Brethren in Pioneer, Ohio. Mary C. Bowers was born on December 25, 1927, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the daughter of Cletus Virgil and Bessie Mae (Cox) Bashor. She married Norman D. Bowers on August 28, 1948, in Pioneer, Ohio. The marriage ended in divorce and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2004. Mrs. Bowers is survived by one daughter, Virginia (David) Ross, of Bryan, Ohio, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Rosamae (Bill) Chamberlain, of Pioneer, Ohio, and Jane (Paul) Pridgeon, of Goshen, Indiana. She was also preceded by a daughter, Cheri Bowers, in 2003, a son, Curt Bowers, in 2005, three brothers, Amos, Cletus V., Jr., and Charles Bashor and one sister, Ruth Shankster. Services celebrating the life of Mary C. Bowers will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Interment will be in West Franklin Cemetery. Memorials in the name of Mary C. Bowers may be given to the American Cancer Society.
