Arlene M. Lockhart

View Video Tribute Arlene M. Lockhart, 81 years, of rural Bryan, died at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Hillside Country Living, where she had been a resident the past several months.  Arlene was a graduate of Montpelier High School, and she attended Fort Wayne Bible College.  She was a cashier for the former Murphy Mart (Ames) for 13 years.  She was a member of First Brethren Church, where she was recently honored for teaching Sunday School for over 50 years.  She also played the piano and was active in the Women’s Missionary Society. Arlene M. Lockhart was born on September 19, 1925, in Stroh, Indiana, the daughter of Edgar and Rilla (Tritch) Hasford.  She married Robert C. Lockhart on June 27, 1948, in Montpelier, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2005. Surviving are her son, Gene (Linda) Lockhart, of Bryan and one granddaughter, Leslie Lockhart, of Longmont, Colorado.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, one daughter, Hope Ann Lockhart, one grandson, Garret Lockhart, one brother, Everett Hasford, and one sister, Juna Beard. Funeral services for Arlene M. Lockhart will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2007, in the First Brethren Church, 13050 County Road C, Bryan, with Pastor Sam Shultz and Pastor Fred Brandon officiating.  Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, rural Bryan.  Visitation for Mrs. Lockhart will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007, from 4 -8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to funeral services on Sunday at the church. Memorials in the name of Arlene M. Lockhart may be given to First Brethren Church, 13050 County Road C, Bryan, Ohio, or to Hillside Country Living, 09876 County Road 16, Bryan, Ohio.
