View Video Tribute Eleanor L. Borton, age 71, of Edon, Ohio died at 1:25 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she was admitted earlier in the week. She was a graduate of Garrett, Indiana, High School. Mrs. Borton was a member of the Edon Church of Christ and formerly the Sunday school treasurer. She was employed over the years with Burkhardt Grocery, Wolff Tractor Sales and Doctor Stokes. Eleanor L. Borton was born on February 17, 1936, in Garrett, Indiana, the daughter of Charles Raymond and Frances Alice (Lasch) Newman. She married Kenneth V. Borton on December 29, 1954, in Garrett, Indiana, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Borton is survived by one daughter, Karen Borton, Edon, Ohio, two sons, Jerry (Joan) Borton, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, and Eric (Bobbi) Borton, of Holiday City, Ohio, three granddaughters, Desiree, Jennalee and Nikki, and one great-grandson, Elijah. She is also survived by two sisters, Naomi George, of Auburn, Indiana, and Marjorie Powell, of Bluffton, Indiana. She was preceded in death by one son, Steven, in 1957 and two brothers. A memorial service for Eleanor L. Borton will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in the Edon Church of Christ with Minister Glenn Anderson officiating.
