View Video Tribute Olen K. Mason, age 83, of rural Edon, Ohio, died at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008, in his home after a brief illness. Mr. Mason was a farmer and self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Mount Union Christian Church near Edon, Ohio, and the Northwest Grange. Olen K. Mason was born on August 20, 1924, in Cambria, Michigan, the son of Harley and Bertha (Moore) Mason. He married Dorothy G. (Jerry) Coolman on March 4, 1944, in Angola, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on November 16, 2003. Mr. Mason is survived by two daughters, Pat (Walt) Fitzcharles, of Montpelier, Ohio, and Bonnie (Skip) Nickens, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, one son, Kenneth (Barb) Mason, of Edon, Ohio, ten grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Jack Mason, of Montgomery, Michigan. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mason was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Mason. Services for Olen K. Mason will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Glen Prine officiating. Interment will follow in Billingston Cemetery near Edon, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral in Edon, Ohio, from 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12. Memorials in the name of Mr. Mason may be given to the Mount Union Christian Church.
