Ronald D. Beard

Ronald D. Beard, age 56, of rural Butler, Indiana, died early on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the home of his daughter in Spencerville, Indiana, after a brief illness. He was a 1972 graduate of Eastside High School and was employed as a truck driver with Heidteman Steel and Mizar Motors. He was a member of the Coburn Corners Church of Christ near St. Joe, Indiana, and was a former member of the Concord Fire Department and DeKalb EMS. Ronald D. Beard was born on February 1, 1952, in Garrett, Indiana, the son of Donald R. and Betty J. (Groff) Beard. He married Martha J. Kagey on June 23, 1973, at Coburn Corners, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2006. Mr. Beard is survived by his children, Laura Beard (Kathy J. Fisher), of Auburn, Indiana, Tim (Tara) Beard, of Lexington, South Carolina, and Alicia (Michael) Graves, of Spencerville, Indiana, and six grandchildren, T.J. Beard, Travis Beard, Katie and Ethan Graves, Bradley Palone and Samantha Fisher. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Coburn Corners Church of Christ with Pastor Brian Wilcox officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Ronald D. Beard may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
